Obituary for Susan Trensia McKenney

Susan Trensia McKenney
Susan McKenney
September 21st, 1943 - September 14th, 2017

It is with deep sadness that the family of Susan McKenney announces her passing on September 14, 2017 at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary. Mom now joins her beloved son Dwayne in heaven where they are both rejoicing in being reunited.

Mom is survived by her son Kendall (Gina), grandchildren Emily and Dylan, daughter Sonia (Terry), brothers Floyd and Brad, and sister Lena. She is predeceased by her dear sister Lillian.

Mom was born in South Berwick, Nova Scotia on September 21, 1943 to loving parents Goldie and Wilford. Mom learned from a very early age that if you had goals and a strong work ethic, anything was possible. She proved this over and over again by always working multiple jobs. No matter what Mom’s economic status was, she was always the first to give back, especially at Christmas time for children in need.

Mom was a young bride and mother who loved her three children unconditionally. Mom’s children were her world, and when grandchildren came her life was complete. Mom worked up until the age of 70, even with her oxygen tank in tow. Her work ethic was still undeniably strong. Mom’s legacy would be very simplistic: Always work as hard as you can, and you will prove to yourself-no matter how humble your beginnings may have been-that you are capable of rising above hardship and imperfection.

Mom, you will be forever in my heart. With love, Happy 74th Birthday.
