October 22, 1946 – July 29, 2017
Joanne Baxter peacefully passed away on July 29, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She is lovingly remembered by her children Cindy Halls (Scott) and Shane Baxter (Lee Ann); grandchildren, Lauren, Julia, Kathleen, Gregory, Alexandra and Issac; brother Don Strachan (Pat) and sisters Peggy Johnson (Andy), Wendy Lloyd (Thomas Boden), as well as her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband Clarence E. Baxter; brother, Bob Cameron; sister, Cheryl Strachan and her parents, T.W.J (Jerry) and Verna Strachan.
Joanne contributed to many memorable moments in people's’ lives and always strived to make everyone feel welcome and at home. Her unconditional love for her family was extremely evident. She very much enjoyed sharing the fond stories experienced through military life, many including her times lived in Germany. Her smile and affection will be greatly missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at Legion 285 (9202 Horton Rd SW) on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Poppy Fund either through their local Legion Branch or mailed to;
