February 22, 1927 - July 28, 2017
Born in Gadsby, AB on February 22, 1927, Verna passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She will be forever remembered, loved and missed by her sons Bill, Ken (Charmaine), Brian (Pam), and David (Lori); her grandchildren, Adam, Christina (Stefan), Donald, Megan (Ed), Paul (Ruth), Josh (Sammie), David, Mitchell, and Amanda (Rick); and her great-grandchildren Macquela, Lincoln, Violet, and Declan. Verna was predeceased by her husband Johnny; son Donald; and her siblings Bill, Laurie, Jim, Alice, and Dan. "Aunty Tuffet," as she was known to the Stettler and Gadsby gang, will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; she will be especially missed by her sisters-in-law, Myrt and Alpha.
Our Mom was very proud to be a’48 Grad of the Holy Cross School of Nursing and will b e m i s s e d b y h e r f e l l o w a l u m n i . It was Verna’s wish to have a Celebration of Life in Calgary and Gadsby later this summer. The Graveside Service in Calgary will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (1515 100 Street SE in the section called " The Last Supper" on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm. The Service in Gadsby, Alberta will be held at Omega Cemetery on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
