Sonia Ruth Lovering (nee Huerta Veas)
October 01, 1936 - May 12, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sonia Lovering of Airdrie, at Peterlougheed Hospital on Friday May 12, 2017 at the age of 80.

Sonia was born in Potrerillo, Chile. She was predeceased by her parents (father) Carlos Humberto Huerta-Huerta and (mother) Marta Ester Veas Núñez both of Chile, S.A. She predeceased her brother Erton (Tito) Huerta Veas 2007 and her older sister Yolanda Huerta Veas Molina, May 27, 2016.

Sonia met Rudy Chowanetz in Chile in the late 1950's and then they moved to Germany where they were married and had 2 children, Harold and Silvia Chowanetz. In July 1967 they decided to move to Calgary, AB. Canada. Where they divorced early 1970's but remained good friends and with each other's spouses also throughout over 42 years. Then Sonia met David Lovering who had 3 children of a previous marriage. They were Married July 3, 1976 and lived in Calgary until their move to Airdrie in October 1989 and have resided there until her sudden passing.

Sonia will be remembered lovingly, always by her family, her sister Elsa and family. Sonia's numerous nieces and nephews throughout Chile. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband David of Airdrie. Her son Harold (Melanie) of Calgary and daughter Silvia (Patrick deceased 2005) of Airdrie. Heidi (stepdaughter) of BC. Her 3 precious Grandchildren Sean (Alyssa), Celeina and Leeann, along with her treasured 5 great grandchildren, Autumn, Evyn, Halle, Teigan and Domenic of Calgary.

Messages of condolences may be left for the family at www.choicememorial.com website. Celebration of Life will be held at Choice Memorial and Cremation Services (105-4715 13th Street NE, Calgary Alberta). On Saturday May 27, 2017 at 3:00pm.
