Condolence: Merja's family - I send my sincere, heartfelt condolences to everyone. I knew that Merja was fighting cancer and had been for several years. We ran into each other, caught up on each others lives and then carried on. We always mentioned our birthdays were so close together. I enjoyed working with her at the Hoito when we were in our teens. I also remember running around the Finlandia Club (in the balcony) and laughing together when we met at the mall. Condolence: Although we only met Merja a few times while visiting at Eija and Brian's home, we saw a very special person-her kind and vibrant spirit, her ready laughter, the passionate love she had for her family. The first time we met was shortly after our granddaughter (now 14) was born. Merja was so encouraging and sent us a wooden puzzle that she and Eric had made with our granddaughter's name as the puzzle pieces. We were so touched and have always remembered Merja's generous and loving heart. May God's comfort and peace be with your entire family as you grieve and celebrate the life of your precious Merja. Condolence: I am heartbroken to hear of Merjas passing. We were born a day apart and grew up together in our early years. Later on life I discovered she lived across the street from me on Wentworth Cres. .. she was a person full of personality always and although we never remained close, we always knew there was a bond. Condolence: Merja was such a special person. Never remember her being angry, only positive and caring.
