Our much loved matriarch Heleen passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on April 7 2017. Heleen was born in Edmonton on January 22, 1920 to John and Anna Hudyma, and spent her formative years in Cadomin, AB where her father was a coal miner. In 1952, when the Cadomin mine closed they moved back to Edmonton. Heleen went to work for Weston’s Bakery and on to Dower Brothers Wholesale. Using her creative skills Heleen started a successful business decorating custom wedding cakes . Heleen’s presence in her family and friend’s lives was special, and she especially loved playing cards with one and all.

Upon retirement, Bill and Heleen enjoyed spending winters in Yuma and Mesa, AZ, and enjoyed vacations in Hawaii, Russia, Cuba plus many summers spent camping in their trailer.
