Fred Van Vaals
November 18, 1929 - October 27, 2016

Fred (Folkert) Van Vaals age 86 years of Calgary, Alberta, born in Franeker The Netherlands on November 18,1929, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2016.

Fred is survived by two brothers John of Trenton Ontario and Jack of Langenburg Saskatchewan; three children Harry (Barb) Van Vaals of Calgary Alberta, Jeannie Button of Trenton Ontario and Kevin Van Vaals of Orland Ontario; along with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Fred was predeased by his brother Klaas Van Vaals; sister Henderika (Heemskerk); and son Syd Van Vaals.

Fred's passions were carpentry, collecting antiques, metal detecting and attending local flee markets. Fred was also an active member in many clubs.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
