Condolence: Hold your horses a minute!

"God is my source!"

I met Ede (meaning 'witness')and Sheila while attending the exciting Victory Life Fellowship and became close while we attended it's bible school 1985-86. During Melanie Erickson's communication classes, the question was posed,

'What is the definition of integrity?'

Well it was a test question the answers of which were discussed later.

Ede had given the answer as

'Jesus'.

Although scored as wrong, perhaps he had the best and most insightful answer of all!

Exuberance and love his Maker placed within Ede showed in his words as he spoke of his faithful wife and dear children of which he thought the world of.

A friend to all and to those in need, Ede is in deed a witness of God's love and friendship.

And transformed from a soldier of the world to a soldier of the cross, he led a charge against the gods of this world as he lifted the banner of Christ as high as he could.

His aim was for the highest heaven offers.

What a very great example for me....and I weep in our loss but rejoice in Heaven's gain.

Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of one of His saints.

Condolence: This is one of my favourite poems. I hope it brings you some small comfort during this difficult time. My thoughts are with you. Love, Lynne

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let me name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect,
Without the trace of a shadow in it.
Life means all that that is ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
Somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well.

Condolence: uncle Ede,

A man I only knew a little bit, but, when I was near him I felt I knew him a lot. To me he was a meek, kind, humble man, who loved God with all his heart, and hope I can be like him in many ways.

Although you will be sorrowfully missed here on earth by your friends and family, I think of the legacy you've left behind, in your kids and family, and how you've touched others.... something God is so proud of you for. I am positive Jesus met you with open arms, saying hello my friend :)

uncle Ede, thanks for being the person you were, we will miss you, but, I know you are in heaven with the Father and I know you are rejoicing greatly.

Blessings to the family and other. My family prays for strength and health for those who are mourning uncle Ede's passing.

Love to all!

Condolence: A letter to a Father from his daughter,

Dad I am so grateful for the moments that we had together this past year, and especially in this past month, and I want to thank you for being the kind of father who was kind and loving towards your family. You blessed each one of our lives in different ways because you were good to people and to your family. You did what you could with what you had and we are grateful for that. xoxo

The tender and special moments that we spent together on your birthday this year meant so much to me and Sam and I will always remember your words of love and gratefulness to your kids that day. xoxo

I hated to see you so weak and regretful, but I know that you have NO sickness or regrets now, and that you are living the most wonderful life with your Heavenly Father and your Sweet Savior Jesus and Holy Spirit.

You deserve to be filled with Joy and Happiness Dad and I can only imagine from what I have read and heard about heaven that you are having the MOST AMAZING time of your life right now, walking and talking on streets of gold with Jesus, visiting with your Creator God in the Throne Room of Heaven, and experiencing HIS LOVE like no love you have ever felt before. You were HIS child before you were anyone else's on this earth, and all those questions you had about those things are now being answered by the one who made you.

I know that mom's love and care for you was wonderful and unconditional, and I know that you were so grateful to her for her love and devotion towards you, but there is nothing like The Father's Love for His children, and you are NOW finding that out for yourself, and that comforts me a great deal.

I was thinking of you this morning when I woke up, up there in heaven, being over-whelmed with the beauty and amazement like you have never seen. It made me smile thinking of the LOVE and PEACE that is embracing you now, and how you can eat anything you want with no repercussions, like a big juicy steak and potatoes smothered in gravy, with fresh bread and butter on the side, oh how good that must taste to you now.

You will never want for anything again Dad, and you are being reunited with your family members that have moved to heaven before you and I can imagine that they are all so very happy to be with you now in such a wonderful place. You will all have lots of fun and wonderment to experience together and you have eternity to do that while you wait for all of us to join you there. xoxo

Knowing what you liked on earth I'm sure that your mansion in heaven is a most beautiful and amazing Ranch with the mountains, rolling hills, rivers and valley's to enjoy all around it, along with all the animals that you enjoyed through-out your life-time also, like our horse Chief, and our dogs Bell and Misty, and those I never knew about from your childhood.

I love you dad with my whole heart and I am so glad that you are now free from the limitations of this earthly realm and that you are now experiencing the fullness and JOY of your eternal heavenly home.

Goodbye for now Dad, I will be looking up often and waving on my Birthday because I know that in heaven family members never forget a birthday and that they are waving and wishing us happy birthday on this earth and sending love and blessings to their loved ones down here, and I will be doing the same for you on your birthday every year til we will be together again in that spiritual world called Heaven, where we will never be separated again.

Congratulations Dad, you made it to the Garden where you have longed to be with your Sweet Savior Jesus and I am so happy for you.

Love, kisses, hugs, and blessings,

Your daughter Tam

Condolence: I have known Ede and Sheila for over 30 years. Doesn't matter how long we haven't seen each other, Ede is always there with welcoming arms to greet me. I will miss talking with him about our favorite topic, God. Ede would get so excited to share with me what wonderful things God had been showing him through the Bible and preachers on television. My prayers and thoughts are with Sheila and the family. My parents, Glen and Gwen send their love and prayers also. May God's strength be with you through this difficult time. We love you Sheila.
