Obituary for Sharon Erna LeMaigre (Hagen)

Sharon Erna LeMaigre (Hagen)
Sharon Erna LeMaigre passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital, just after midnight on May 14th, 2015; she was 70 years of age. She was surrounded by her loving, sons along with several of the grand children and one of the great grand children.

Mom has been struggling with the complications of diabetes for several years now and had become worse over time. She had been in the hospital for 1 month prior to her passing, her kidneys had completely failed and she was doing dialysis 4 times a week. She seemed to be getting better and it looked like she might be able to get out to an extended care facility, but sometime on Wednesday May 13th she suffered a debilitating stroke. Her doctor suggested we all be near her as she didn’t think Mom would survive the night.

For anyone that knew my mother, family was of paramount importance to her, the love of those she loved was the smile and warmth in her heart. She shared a birthday with our cousin Murray August 26th and they had a special bond with each other, she loved all of her family, Ken her brother, and Faye, Lenore and Donna her sisters, there was always more room in her heart for many others.

She was most proud of her three sons, who she raised for many years as single mother struggling to make ends meet, but she always had us fed and clothed and loved dearly, we never wanted for anything. My mother was not necessarily the strongest person, but she was one of the kindest and yet even this was proven somewhat wrong, as when I was sitting next to her stroking her forehead and telling her what a good job she had done with us boys and how we would miss her, when I told her we loved her, through the debilitating fog of the stroke came the slurred words “I love you” That was perfect, she could hear us all and she told us she loved us with her last spoken words, it was as perfect as saying goodbye can be. There will be many here that are not mentioned but know my mother loved you all dearly and deeply, she was a sweet child in many ways and we will all mourn and praise her in our own ways as to what she meant to each of our minds and hearts.

Sharon Erna LeMaigre is pre-deceased by her grandson Jeremy and survived by her three loving sons Terry McLennan, Kelly McLennan and Darren McLennan, her granddaughter and great granddaughter Emma and Kyla, granddaughter Cheyenne and grandson Trysten, along with granddaughters Tianna and Dailyn and great grandson Kendrick
Thank you all for the kind words and condolences if you have a story to share, please feel free to leave it here for others to enjoy.
